PROJECT 2B : POSTER DESIGN
  1. Research about your topic

  1. Study and gather all related information about your topic.

I have done poster design for gender equality at the United Nations before, so this assignment is not strange to me.
The Fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5) of the United Nations aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. Its main contents include: 1. Eliminate discrimination: end all forms of discrimination against women and girls. 2. Eliminate violence: Eliminate violence against women and girls in the public and private spheres. 3. Eliminate harmful practices: eradicate harmful practices such as child marriage, early marriage, forced marriage and female genital mutilation. 4. Promote leadership: Ensure that women have equal participation and leadership opportunities in decision-making at all levels. 5. Guarantee the right to reproductive health: universal access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights. 6. Promote economic equality: reform laws and practices, and give women equal economic resources and rights. 7. Empowerment with technology: enhance women's use of information and communication technology. 8. Strengthen the legal framework: formulate and strengthen policies and laws that promote gender equality. Achieving these goals not only improves the quality of life of women and girls, but also promotes overall social progress.

    fig 1.1 Refer to

    fig 1.2 Refer to

    fig 1.3 Refer to

2.Write a summary about your topic

Gender equality is the fifth Sustainable Development Goal set forward by the UN, and it is the subject of this poster. By showing a balance scale, which represents the disparity between male and female position in society, it draws attention to the ongoing problem of gender inequality. The query "Can you face it?" pushes viewers to acknowledge and take action against gender inequality. This poster emphasizes the significance of guaranteeing access to reproductive rights, encouraging equal involvement in decision-making, and ending discrimination, violence, and harmful behaviors against women and girls. In addition to being an issue of social justice, gender equality is essential to the advancement of sustainable global development.

PART 3: WEEK 10

3. Start to develop your design projects

1. Draft the digital poster based on your sketch

                                                                       fig 1.7 Digitize Sketch

The main purpose of modifying Figure 1 to Figure 2 is to enhance the visual attractiveness, improve the clarity of information transmission, optimize image elements, and improve the overall design aesthetics. Figure 2 Through more vivid color contrast, more concise text layout and more modern design, the poster is more visually impactful, and the
information transmission is more direct and effective, so as to better disseminate the important information of gender equality.

FINAL POSTER

 TITLE: can you face it?

SUMMARY:

Gender equality is the fifth Sustainable Development Goal set forward by the UN, and it is the subject of this poster. By showing a balance scale, which represents the disparity between male and female position in society, it draws attention to the ongoing problem of gender inequality. The query "Can you face it?" pushes viewers to acknowledge and take action against gender inequality. This poster emphasizes the significance of guaranteeing access to reproductive rights, encouraging equal involvement in decision-making, and ending discrimination, violence, and harmful behaviors

against women and girls. In addition to being an issue of social justice, gender equality is essential to the advancement

of sustainable global development.

Description

The revised poster on gender equality uses a visually impactful design to highlight the ongoing disparity between male and female status in society.
Central to the poster is a balance scale, with a female figure on one side and a male figure on the other, illustrating the imbalance. The bold, contrasting colors—blue on the left and pink on the right—draw immediate attention, while the large, diagonal "EQUALITY" text emphasizes the core message. The question "Can you face it?" challenges viewers to confront gender inequality directly.

The vertical text "From ancient to present, female status" and "Gender Equality" further underline the historical and contemporary context of the issue. This design approach aims to not only raise awareness
but also inspire viewers to take action towards achieving true gender equality. By effectively combining striking visuals with a powerful message, the poster seeks to engage and educate the audience on the importance of this critical social goal.

Source of inspiration

In the process of creating this funny video, I was inspired by the combination of many factors, which made this video both humorous and creative.

1. The combination of nature and humor

Sharks in nature are usually regarded as powerful and dangerous creatures, but I want to show the other side of them in a humorous way. An important source of my inspiration is nature documentaries, which usually show the power and power of sharks. However, I hope to subvert this serious image and let the shark show a relaxed and interesting side in the context of funny music.

2. The appeal of funny music

Music has a strong power in conveying emotions and atmosphere. I chose a funny piece of music, whose brisk rhythm and cheerful melody can immediately create a pleasant atmosphere. This piece of music inspired my creation. I imagine sharks dancing or making funny movements to the music festival, which can bring unexpected laughter to the audience.

3. Classic comedy elements

I was also inspired by some classic comedy films, such as the humorous elements in Tom and Jerry, which made the audience laugh through exaggerated actions and plot settings. I hope to add similar comedy elements to this video, so that the shark's action and music beat fit perfectly to form a funny visual effect.

The inspiration for this video is multi-faceted. By combining the shark, a powerful creature in nature, with funny music, I hope to create a novel and humorous visual experience. Through such creation, I not only hope to bring joy to the audience, but also to show the infinite possibilities of creative design.

Design concept

I have drawn a lot of inspiration from travel and nature, especially the awe of the ocean and the yearning for freedom. In this design, I want to convey the theme of protecting the environment and pursuing freedom through a picture depicting people sitting on the reef, surrounded by jellyfish, whales swimming in the ocean, and sea swallows in the sky.

First of all, people sitting on the reef symbolize the harmonious coexistence of human beings and nature. Reefs represent strength and stability, while the existence of human beings expresses our dependence on nature and our desire for a better environment. Jellyfish and whales are representatives of marine life, showing the mystery and diversity of the ocean. The light and elegant posture of jellyfish symbolizes freedom and freedom, while whales represent strength and depth.

The swallow in the sky is the embodiment of freedom. Haiyan flew between the sea and the sky, showing an unrestrained spirit. Through this contrast, I want to express a state of freedom and peaceful coexistence.

The overall picture is full of dynamic and vitality. Marine life and human beings together constitute a harmonious and beautiful picture scroll, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection and mankind's pursuit of freedom. Through this artistic expression, I hope to arouse people's attention to marine environmental protection, and also inspire everyone to pursue freedom and tranquility of mind.
